Windows XP Boot Fails with blank screen

    System powers on and posts but when it should be showing the Windows splash screen the screen goes blank (no cursor).

    I can pull the drive and see it on another system.

    So, booted up from XP CD and ran FIXMBR = No change.

    Also ran FIXBOOT = No change.

    Ran the Hitachi disk test and the drive passed. (four year old drive.)

    Suggestions would be welcome.

    (Note: no diskette drive)

    I get through the post screen. So, the monitor and video card work.
