all i did was make the system boot into safe mode (don't remember why) and i forgot that the os was installed with a bigger default screen resolution than the monitor i am using now so safe mode didn't work

so as i learned at an earlier time on this forum. when you set the screen resolution bacck to a setting that doesn't fit the screen that is currently being used, select vga mode. i did this and the thing booted up beautifully. but only one more inconvience that is keeping me from entering windows

the screen that says welcome before the deskttop loads, its stuck there until the computer's graphics card finally goes screwy (this has been happening alot lately but thats a different story might post it in hardware forum asap) how do i get it to boot completely and flawlessly again

theres probably a much better solution but if you get desperate you could always hit F8 and select revert to previous settings that last worked.(can't remember the correct terminology)
Or use your restore option and restore to the day prior to the problem ? that might work
