Windows XP log-on Probs

Hiya guys,

Just a quick one. when i load up windows XP Home Edition and i get the log-on screen.. I type in my password and when i click to login, my screen flickers between black and the normal blue screen, and then, my monitor goes black and goes into standby.

The only way i can then get logged in is by rebooting the computer for which it then works all day. I have changed monitors and know its coming from the tower.. Any suggestions on fixing this... it only started about 2 weeks ago, and i havn't installed or un-installed anything particular to have caused this.

Try a repair install of XP.
