Whenever i leave my pc idle for half an hour or so, my pc freezes, no error or anything, just freezes up. If i reset it, it won't detect my hard drive while booting up. I have to shut it all the way down and then turn it on again. I run winxp, which i recently reinstalled, along with a new motherboard and processor. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Or, do you have any power saving features enabled? As in:

Right click on desktop, then select properties, then select the screen saver tab, then select the "power" button. What are your setting under "Setting for home/office desk power scheme..."?

i'd check you settings as others have mentioned! make sure you don't have "hibernate" or "standby" enabled! on your desktop "right click" --> "properties" --> "screensaver" tab --> "power button" --> "Power schemes" tab - system standby (mine is never), "Hibernate" tab, uncheck box. i've seen these enabled on desktops and the users had problems.

this is all assuming that yours is a desktop comp, and not a laptop, where you might want these items enabled??!! ;) - sos

everything's set to never, and the hibernate box is unchecked.
