I have a Dell Inspiron 2650 with a TrueMobile 1150 card. (My home network has another Dell Inspiron notebook and a Dell Dimension desktop computer that are working fine - no internet problems. Because the other Inspiron has never had any problems, I don't think that the problem is with my router. I have also tried using the problem notebook in other parts of my house - it has the same problem everywhere.) The TrueMobile 1150 card keeps getting disabled. I have checked the power management and that is turned off. To fix the network connection when it gets disabled, I click REPAIR on the wireless icon. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I have to remove the TrueMobile card and reinsert it. My internet connection can last for seconds, minutes - but rarely hours. (In writing this message, I have already had to repair the network connection.) What can I do to fix this problem? Do I need a new TrueMoblie card? The status light is always on - so I know that there is a connection. When working, the activity light will flicker. Usually when I lose the conncetion, the activity light is a solid green. I have tried to run the TrueMobile diagnostics - when things are connected it says that everything is fine. When it gets disabled, I can't run the diagnostics. This is not a new network. It had been working for 3 years. No new software has been added. PLEASE HELP!!

(In the time it took to write this message - I had to repair the network 3 times.)

does your wireless card use its own software to manage the wireless connection. If so, consider turning off Windows Wireless Zero configuration as you will be having 2 programs trying to manage your connection.

This can be done by going into the control panel, network connections, right click your wireless network and click properties, somewhere in there it will say something like "allow windows to manage connection". Uncheck this.

Thanks so much for your reply.

I have tried turning windows off and having the TrueMobile manager take care of things and vice versa. No luck!

Could my TrueMobile card be going bad?

The problem is getting progressively worse. Now I can barely get on for 30 sec.

    hmmm..

are your other computers connected wirelessly?

you could also try changing the channel frequency and see if that fixes it, some other wireless device may be interfering with it.

you could try downloading a new driver and try that out.

also, go into control panel, network connection, right click wireless network and select properties, select authentication tab and see if there is an option for ieee authentication, if so turn it off.
