I have installed a Belkin wireless router :-
On desktop I am able to do everything as normal but on the wi-fi laptop I can access the web: receiving and sending information, can receive emails using my broadband ISP.
But I am unable to send emails!!
What isn't set up quite right? Seems strange to be able to have majority of facility!
Have XP running on desktop and laptop computers.

    Regards

Sounds like your email client on the laptop is not set up correctly. Partularly the outbound connection. Check your settings or post them here.

    OK...lets gather some more information.

What email client are you using on your desktop and laptop?
Are you simply using WEB mail from both machines (ex. Internet Explorer)?

    Hi
    I'm in England!
I am using blueyonder broadband with outlook express on both computers.
I have looked at all the possible(?) variables on the desktop pc and they seem to be identical to what is on the laptop.

OK....I am ssuming that your accessing your email via POP3.

On the desktop machine, if you go to TOOLS | EMAIL ACCOUNTS you should see your email account. Click on change and there should be a connections or servers TAB. Click on that TAB and you should see settings for inbound Port 25 and outbound Port 110 as well as a couple of check boxes. These settings need to match the settings on your laptop. I would suspect that the outbound settings or the outbound authentication is not correct.

    Thanks, Jim

But I've been there already but tried again!!
The pc inbound port is 7362 and will not work with 25!!
The laptop is 25 and will not work with 7362.
Both have outbound set at 110.

    Now where do I go?
