if you go into your command prompt by going start > run > type in "cmd" and hit OK.
at the command prompt, type ipconfig/all
youll have ethernet and wireless adapters shown there. if its off itll say media disconnected. or if its on youll be getting an IP address.
hope this helps. anymore problems just post back.

You can go to your Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc) and look at the listed Network Devices. It will list what ever hardware the computer has available for networking.

If your not sure whats what in there, list it here and someone would be able to tell you what they are. Also take note if there is anything in the Device Manager such as Unknown Devices. That could be a wireless controller that need a driver installed.

Cheers people!! It says i have PCMCIA adapters, generic CardBus Controller, and when properties are opened it looks like a "chip" icon showing Memory range FFAFFOOO - FFAFFFFF? This is toooo technical for me i will just try it when i link up my netgear. it should find wireless or do i have to install it?;)

if you have a wireless nic in your computer it should find the wireless signal on its own. if it dosnt, go start > connect to > show all connections and open up your wireless icon there.
