Wireless mini pci card

Hi,

Does anyone know how to fit a wireless mini pci card into a Toshiba P10-304 (the funny grey sponge bits) laptop and whether a briadcom card is compatible

Tried Toshiba and they advised to have card fitted by a registered Toshiba technician.

There must be an easier way!!!!

 

I'm not familiar with Toshiba but most IBM laptops have 2 panels on the bottom. 1 for memory and 1 for the Mini PCI card. If you have a Mini PCI slot it should be easy to access. Installing the card and the driver is simple, however running the wires for the antennas can be quite a project. The card is on the bottom of the MB and the antennas go along side the screen.

 

the only problem i see, is for the antenna of the mini-pci, most laptops have their antenna integrated in the frame, but since it never had a wireless adapter before...


it *might* get tricky....

Accessing the slot is easy enough and the two wires are clearly visible but they both have a grey sponge end on them.

removing the sponges will make the connectors of the antennas appear

installation should be pretty straightforward..

install the mini-pci, connect the antennas ( should'nt differ which cable you plug where )

start computer, install driver ( don't forget to remove battery before opening you laptop )

in case you don't feel up to the task....ask a certified tech to do the job...
