    Hi,

I'm attempting to use wireless internet access for the first time and it's not working for me.

My laptop is a Toshiba Equium with Windows XP. I'm in a wifi zone and my computer has detected a LAN connection (status: connected, 400.0mbps) but I can't get online and the ConfigFree connectivity doctor says that I'm not connected. There has been no opportunity to fill in username or passwords and when I open IE the dial-up log-in box appears.

It could even be that the laptop doesn't surrport wireless access. I really am that clueless. Does anyone know?

Any help would be much appreciated.

The LAN connection is a 1394 connection, if that helps.

You will need to go into Options --> Connections menu in IE and change from 'dial-up using my default connection' to 'never dial a connection'.

Hopefully then IE will check for a local network.
