wm cd/dvd writer/burner

I attempted to burn an audio memorex 48x700 cd-r new disk and it was returned and the msg said to insert a blank disk. I tried three new blank disks and got the same msg.

Don't understand it, because I copied a file with a re-writable cd and it burned the file with no problem.

Would anyone have any ideas or thoughts on what the problem might be. I have searched the internet and cannot find any help. I a fairly new dell basic (vista) cp, this is just one of the many problems I have having with this cp..

The dvd/cd writer/burner is a "TSST Corp. cdrwdvd ts-h493asca.

My immediate reaction would be to try a different brand of disc. Some writers can be picky.
