On my other computer I've somehow had gotten affected by a net-worm, trojan, and i have a critical system error.

Symptoms I'm having is when I go to certain files or programs my program opens then closes on its on. It happens usually when I log on my AOL, IE, add/remove programs my computer>C:\>Program Files.

i can get to the sign on screen for AOL n log in but when i get to my home it closes before i can type an web address. ON I.E. It goes to the homepage but if i try to go to another it closes.

My kaspersky lab 6.0 can't upgrade, even when i fully scan my computer it doesn't find anything. My Norton antivirus can't even find it either. A lil message pops up by the taskbar, saying what the worm, trojan, is but then it closes and i can't have time enough to write the name. Also another icon pops in the taskbar saying critical system error!

    WHAT SHALL I DO?
heres my email :removed email address to curb spam harvesters
    or post here.

Also, I've noticed i only get the worm and trojan messages when i log on to AOL, i just added that to see if that factored anything into it.

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

See if you can follow the below guide and run the software specified and attach the logs, this will give us a good idea on how to remove what you have.... also if you have Kaspersky 6.0 full and Norton AV on your PC then two full scanning antivirus applicatiosn will conflict with each other, its best to remove one of them.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

Try downloading on your PC that works! And then burn to a CD or copy to a USB flash drive, or copy via your network (if you have the PCs on a network).

Let us know if you can do it this way. Obviously you will have to skip the online scans until we are able to get your PC to connect to the internet,

    something amazing happened!

I went through my C;/ i knew i was suppose to have a Mcafee with my Aol, so i install it it finds the virus that effects my executable files.

to make a long story short, i have internet connection.

and i done some research, im affected by NetWorm-i.virus@fp, and the fake strcodec. so i guess all i gotta do is get rid of them.

    What Now?
