I'm running XP SP3. Is there a limit as to how many files a folder can have? And if so how can it be increased? I thought this was addressed once with a registry hack but I no longer can find it (I've searched). Thanx

    A blatant cut and paste..

That said, if you are running xp then your filesystem is, (most likely) NTFS--so 4,294,967,295
files wow-- I would hate to see that folder...LOL

Thank you for that answer. I have one folder that now has about 10 files that were moved from another folder. I don't know when this happened and it's certainly not something I would have done. I had this happen a couple years ago but I don't remember what caused it. I thought I had read about something like this on here once but can't find it. Any ideas?
