XP Hangs after repair

    I'm using a Presario laptop with XP SP2. The OS seemed to become corrupted and so I put in the CD and used the 2nd repair option. Everthing seemed to go OK until the reboot and after the reboot all I get is a cursor. I've let it set for a long time and nothing changes. I tried redoing the repar and the result is the same. Thank you in advance for any help.
