Sorry if this has been asked before but I don't even know the correct terms

    I have a 4GB partition for Windows (C:), a 15GB partition for apps(P:) and a 40Gb partition for files/documents(X:)

I have an Admin account and setup a regular User account for security benefits.

How do I/What file do I change so my User account can save files/documents on my X drive? I tried making the drive in the shared folder, but that didnt work, only lets me view files already there

    Thanks so much!

Make sure the permissions are set for that user to read/write/execute there. Or, Full Control, if you deem necessary.
