Applications in Office 2000 premium such as Word generates error message: "Word has encountered a problem and must shut down.." This occurs after the second boot, after office has been installed. Upon re-opening Word the title bar reads "Document 2" not "Document 1". Error dialogue repeats and Word shuts down. Reopen Word and title bar reads "Doc 3" error message reapears and.. this repeats. Tried deleting normal.dot and Word ran OK.. until 2nd reboot. Tried re install resulting in the same above. Word repare or whatever- yes tried that. I have tried everything.. well almost everthing (I hope.) This Office 2000 CD is installed on 3 other computers. Runs fine in ME, 98 and 2000. This computer is dual boot (xp/me). Please help me! Dual booting.. is Office installed directly in the operating system that it's failing in? Some folks try to run a program from the other operating system, with manual tweaks, which may or may not work well.

Have you gone to the Office site and updated it? There have been a lot of patches put out since it was new.
