    Hi
Hope im in the right fourm.
I think I am running a 32 bit os, xp pro with service pack 2 with a duel core processer with 4 gigs of ram.
My question is, when running a background program it slows down, is there an adjustment I can make to allow both programs run at the same speed ?

    Unfortunately, not really.

You have a choice: Run it as a background task, or a foreground program. Aside from that, the only thing you can really do is play with the CPU affinity. In task manager, you can change the affinity of a running program.

You might try CPU Control at http://www.majorgeeks.com/download5875.html

I run it on my Duo Core laptop, and set to automatic (and forget ;) ).
