XP Pro slow and freeze-up

    I have XP Pro installed on my computer,it is extremtly slow and freezes continuously.It doesen't seem to matter which programs I have open when it freezes.Have done virus and spyware scans and nothing was found.The computer is a AMD 3000 with 2gs of memory so I don't think this is my problem. HELP.

    Thanks Athron64, that pretty much fixed that problem,but i have another one now.
