Well I've been almost every place else, so I thought I'd try here. I'm having an issue with Yahoo Messenger hanging every time it tries to access my Web Cam.
This happens also on the Yahoo Messenger "Test your Cam" web page.

    OS: Windows XP SP2
Background: The cam works fine in Windows. It works fine in MSN Messenger.
It works fine on a different computer running Windows XP SP1.

I will post what I have done so far below, but I think I may have thought of another issue:
Yahoo may be trying to connect to my Pinnacle Studio 9 card, rather than searching for my camera.

I thinking this may be the case because the results are the same whether my camera is plugged in or not. Does anyone know where this information is stored? A registery entry? An ini file somewhere? As you can see I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times; so I'm thinking it is someplace the uninstaller isn't deleting.

I know I have a conflict someplace, I just need some direction to find it and workaround it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    P.S.
Yes I have opened about 12 calls with Yahoo Support. They say the problem is with my system, but offer no help in trying to figure out what it is or where to look.

What I have done so far:
    Reproducing the Symptom:
    o Start Yahoo Messenger
o Select "Messenger -> My Webcam"
o Warning message displayed, covering portion of the
    YMessenger window. Selected OK.
    o Warning message disappeared.
    o Spike in CPU usage
(from about 2% to 50% then immediately back
    down to 2%).
    o Network was accessed.
o The portion of the Yahoo Messenger window
that was covered by the warning message was not
    refreshed.
o Menu Items in Yahoo Messenger do not display,
    and are not available.
o Task manager indicates that TWO
    "Yahoo! Messenger with Voice" applications
have a status of "Not Responding"
o Unable to terminate the processes using TaskManager.
o Other access to Yahoo Mail remains unaffected.
o All I can do is reboot.
o No error messages are created by Dr. Watson
