I'm using Win XP home and Zone Alarm Pro 4.5. A couple of questions you may be able to help me with.

    1. If I reboot my pc and leave it at the log on screen, so that none of the users is logged on, zone alarm is not running I assume as it seems to start when the log on process runs. Is my pc vulnerable after rebooting it and not logging on ?

    2. Web Filtering - I want to use expert rules to stop access to a web site that my son uses via a pc connected via ICS. I have set it up and the rules work for my pc, but not his pc. Any idea what to do ? Do I have to apply rules to ALG or another process ? Can't seem to get anything to work.

I use ZA Pro as well. I've always assumed that if you didn't log in, your internet connection was never established. Now you've got me doubting, so I am going to hunt some info on it.

As for blocking the site, you may just want to modify the host file on his computer to block that site. For someone who doesn't know anything about host files, they'd have no idea why their website wasn't working... just a thought.

After more investigation, I think the internet connection is up even though I have not logged on and Zone Alarm isn't running. My son rebooted my pc and the pc was left at the log on screen, with nobody logged on, He was still able to get to the internet from his pc which is a client of mine via ICS.
