Hp Elitedesk 800 G4 Bricked

Hi..

I was doing some updates from Microsoft and they prompted a BIOS update which bricked the machine. When I start it I get the error ... "Stop code: MICROCODE_REVISION_MISMATCH (0x17E)"

I've been able to roll back and even update to several different BIOS versions but it still wont start. I also tried a fresh install of Win 11 and to no avail.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Won't start? Black screen? Blue screen? No video?

 

It tries to start and gives me the error I listed in my post. Its starts with a black screen stating..."Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. We'll restart for you." This is the same screen that has the error coded I included in my post. Then it switches over to saying,...."Preparing Automatic repair" and runs for 2 second before going back to the first screen. Loop..loop...loop!

If your PC has secure boot in the bios, try turning it off.

 

if you have corrupted the bios by the bios update. You could try removing the cmos battery leave it out for 10-20 seconds and then put battery back in and reboot
