installing a cdrw drive

i was recently given a hewlett packard computer (nothing special). But it does have a cdrw drive i would like to take out and install into my current computer which is a dell. How can I do this? Will i even be able to do this?

 

switching a drive like that should be no problem as long as you know what you are doing and how to reconnect everything. things like drives generally aren't proprietory and will work on almost any PC that has the power to run it.
