ok, im pretty new to this whole MAC thing, and i am having major problems when it comes to downloading. im poor so i went on livewire and downloaded microsoft office, now, when unzipped, it says i there isnt anything to open these files with, so i choose the trial version of office to see if it would open up the new download so i could start installing it...but thats a no go. what am i doing wrong and how do i get it installed???

If livewire is p2p sharing application then its likely that the file is not Office, is corrupted or not for the MAC but for Windows, which is why its best to buy the original MS Office.
If you want a free alternative then this should help, altho its still in testing a may have some bugs NeoOffice http://mac.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4917
