Question Macintosh IIsi missing monitor

I have a Macintosh IIsi, as part of my ancient collection, and it has no monitor. I have another monitor, an Apple Multiple Scan 15 Display from 1995, but it doesn't seem to work on the IIsi. It works on a Performa 6300CD, but maybe Apple changed the monitor type when it changed processors? (The IIsi uses a Motorola CPU, while the Performa uses a PowerPC.) My question is, if there is any adapter or anything, or some modification that would let me see what's going on. I have IBM-compatible monitors of all ages, also, and I think there used to be adapters for them, but I'm not sure which Macs they were for, since I didn't even know there were differences among them. I sometimes work on computers with the monitor off for fun, but I don't even know what System this one has. If there is no way of putting a monitor on it, maybe I could network it? That might be simpler than fooling with adapters? Anyone have ideas? Thx4reading...

I am guessing here. I think the Mac IIsi does not support multiple scan monitors. You might need a 640x480 monitor.

Thanks, I'm not as familiar with pre-PowerPC Macs. Is there an adapter or something that would work to an IBM-compatible from the IIsi? or to the Multiple Scan one? I even have monochromes, if one of them would work.

From http://macfaq.org/hardware/graphics.shtml#Q2.1.6

Quote:
2.1.6 - What monitors will work with my IIci/IIsi?
The IIsi and IIci, which have the same video subsystem, cannot drive a standard VGA monitor. However, any monitor supporting a 67Hz refresh rate, sync-on-green, and the proper horizontal and vertical refresh rates will work. This includes many Sony monitors and the Apple Portrait Display. Apple's multisync monitors such as the Multiple Scan 15 do NOT support sync-on-green, and will not work properly with the built-in video. The Apple Two-Page Display is also incompatible with built-in video on these two Macs.

Some Mac-to-VGA monitor adapters can properly separate the sync signals of monitors that do not sync on green, thus enabling otherwise incompatible monitors to be used with the IIci or IIsi (at a price, usually around US$50). The Apple Developer Hardware Tech Note #8 has pinout information for the IIci and IIsi DB-15 video ports if you want to make your own adapter.
