Hi traviss?
Do you have a 32 or 64 bit system? And which two errors are you getting with Combofix? The Vista cleaning instructions, which include Combofix, can be found on this page: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=139681 abri |

Hi traviss,
Did you download the newest version of Combofix from our site? If not, please go to the READ & RUN ME FIRST , scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the link to the cleaning instructions for Vista computers. On the page that opens up, find Combofix and download it from that link. Combofix will not work with a 64 bit system. Some problems which do come up when using Combofix with Vista are 1) hinderances through antivirus or anti-malware programs that are running. Please try disabling your Windows Defender and if that doesn't help, try disconnecting from the internet and then running it (while disconnected) with your antivirus program disabled. 2) Also, there are some things which prevent Combofix from running in normal mode. Try running it in safe mode and see if that works. To reach safe mode if you haven't done this, click on the F8 key about once a second during bootup until you get to the menu which allows different boot up options. Choose Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking if you have that. Let me know if any of these things help. abri |
