I had a horrible night :(

Tonight I had the worst night. I was at cheerleading practice and we were doing something called stunting. Its where two girls hold a girl up in the air. There is a person in back of them that monitors the whole stunt to make sure everythings going okay, and hold the girls ankles while shes in the air.

There is also something cradling. Thats where you throw the girl up in the air and catch her. The person in the back has to be the one who catches her. Well guess what I was the person in the back. Well the girl was thrown up into the air and and somewhere along the line something went wrong, and she hit me in my mouth with her head. It had hurt so bad. I tried to hold back my tears, but it was hard. RIGHT IN THE MOUTH. I still caught her though. Now my lip is a little swollen.

Thanks. It would hurt her a lot more than it would hurt me if I let her fall on the concrete.

do you cheer through school or club? I went to U.S.A. Spirit Nationals in Anaheim in May. My bf's daughter's squad placed 3rd. I know how hard you work and you showed what teamwork is all about.

Catching is critical in that kind of stunt. The other girl might have ended up with much worse than a fat lip if you'd botched the catch. Good job indeed!

In all seriousness, CaNoFzOo, you actually had a good night. The fat lip hurts, and looks bad, but that will pass quickly. The memory of a difficult save will stay with you, as it should. That will be a very good memory.

The University of Louisville cheerleaders won some kind of cheerleading competition a few years ago. They must be pretty good at it. I would say so...

Anyway, I was at a UofL basketball game once, and they were doing cheerleading stuff.

They had this thing where they would throw a cheerleader HIGH, I mean HIGH! up in the air. So high up that I wondered: My gosh! How can they muster the strength to throw her that high?

And, I kept thinking:
If they screw up catching her, she'll die! It was like a circus act.

I say, no matter if you have to take your licks, keep doing that cheerleading stuff.
The acrobatics. If you can do that stuff, keep it up. It is so cool.

And, watch a Jackie Chan movie!

That guy, he has broke about every bone in his body doing that wacky stunt-man stuff.
