Hi Lowboy

Have you tried updating the drivers for the modem? Did your modem come with a disc?
What type of modem is it? Is it a clean install of Windows?

Lowboy either download EVEREST and obtain some more informative specs or goto your device manager and obtain the specs there:

http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181

Its hard for people to provide help for you if you can't provide the necassary info!

Device Manager (XP):

right clik My Comp > Properties > Hardware (tab) > Device Manager > Modem (expand +) > left clik on Modem

You will get all the info you need from here!!!!
