Hi all, just wondering if this sounds about right. I just got a geforce 6800xt card to replace my radeon 9200se, and have started comparing benchmarks just out of boredom. It seems I only score (get this) 500 more in 3dmark 2001se with the new card, and thats a lowly score of 5911! I get the same score as that in 3dmark 2003 with 4xAA enabled! What do you think is happening there? Also I can't get more than 7000 on 3dmark 2000, even in 640x480! Is something wrong with this rig or is it normal?
BTW i have a p4 1.8 with 512mb RAM (not the best but in 2001 I was scoring 11000+ with the same CPU and a GF4Ti 4800se). |

A couple of things you havnt enabled apg mode check video card properties is set at agp 8x and\or you'v got there is thirsty 6800gt I have witnessed the same phenomenon when I hooked up a 6800gt to an amd xp1900,whats happening is the video card is drawing so many clock cycles from your cpu and sapping the life from the memory just for it to work it isnt leaving enough for anything else, poor guys just cant keep up,one clear sympton of this is a stutter even though I could score 10000 points on 3dmark 03,when in the real world on call of duty for example I had to set everything much lower than with my fx5700 just to free up some cpu cycles for the rest of the game and even then when walking there was a repetitive stutter every second or so,everthing was set up right and the stutter was evident in quite a few other games, multiplayers became impossible due to the cpu not having the power to calculate the other players positions any evidence of a repetitive stuuter in games

Yep I suppose that makes sense. What i found strange is that I get 6500 in 3dmark 2003 and only ~5000 in 2001se! I remember back in 2001 some friends of mine both had brand new athlon thunderbird 1200Mhz pcs with a geforce 2 Ultra, and they were getting more than I do now with a p4 1.8 and 6800xt! still, i don't care becuase battle of proxycon runs at around 60fps with this setup, so overall im pleased. Don't get why 2001 + 2000 run so slow though

2001 is more a system benchmark its a good guide that I'v used a few times to measure perfomance of a system overclock, it can also show up bottlenecks and problems, I can get 25000 on 2001
,2003 and 2005 are very video card dedicated, the difference between the scores when using a 1900+ and an a643500 is only 500 points in 3d03,the bench doesnt really care what cpu or memory you have, another good program that I like thats good for showing up problems is sandra 2007,you can run the cpu benchmarks and compare the performacne of your cpu to similar and your memory speedIf you use the analysis and advice tool it will scan your computer for problems and does a great job of finding weak areas and telling you exactly what you have to do to fix them you'll be suprised how many it finds http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/index.ht...64&langx=en&a= ![]() Edit try pressing esc after the last game test see what your score is
