Default Keylogger system 32\drivers\ps2.sys.

I have KasperskyAV6.0.2.621, running on an HP computer (XP), and a pop-up appears saying that there is a suspicious Keylogger system 32\drivers\ps2.sys.

Should I delete it? or should I do something else?

Hi

Well the file ps2.sys in drivers can actually be linked to the special keyboard buttons on some PCs especially HP, so what I would do is to locate this file, right click it and check the info to who the owner/developer is, before acting.

So do you have a HP PC?

Is your Kaspersky fully upto date? as this seems to me to be a false positive.

yes i have an HP, and i just updated my virus.

when i go to the properties of the file, it says:

Copyright © Hewlett-Packard Company 2000
Version: 1.0.2.0

But Kaspersky still tracks it as a keylogger

Hi

Kaspersky is sadly flagging this as malware but its a false positive, hopefully the next Kaspersky virus dat update will fix this, or also contact Kaspersky and tell them they have flagged up a legit file, at times all the AVs out their will flag a legit file up as bad.

At times Kaspersky has flagged up Windows Explorer and DrWatson as bad!!
