I've been having the power connection problem common to the M35x (this one is s311), and took apart the thing only to discover this might be a different kind of problem.
As usual, it would run off a charged battery, but not off the cable (which worked). It also would not charge its own battery. So it makes sense to expect there is a gap in the power connector's connection to the mobo. Here is what we found. (same as attached) http://i27.tinypic.com/2vnm89g.jpg http://i25.tinypic.com/f1wmdj.jpg Does this damage look irreparable? I'm hesitant to attempt the soldering solution, because it seems like there is so much damage to the board nearby there's no saving the thing. Anyone think it might be worth attempting? thx! |
