Airport is turned on by default on Macs, or at least new ones. I did turn mine off. But what is to keep a person from connecting to your Mac that way? I didn't use the strongest password for my Mac at first, so is it possible automated software could have cracked it? And even if a person didn't try to connect my computer, couldn't someone in my neighborhood that has malware spread that by accident wirelessly, and potententially that could gain access to my computer? It seems far to risky to have that turned on by default.
