i dont really know where to put this thread since i dont know the cause of the problem, but since my os is vista, i decided to put it here.

i restarted but it wont get past the "Windows is loading screen".
i tried waiting for a long time but it still wont work.
then, it went into startup repair but the repair said that it cannot find any problems.
then, it still wont open.
the startup repair suggested system restore but it cannot go through with it for some reason. i opened the repair and diagnostic log and this is what it says:

*i tried running system restoreagain from the cd but it returns this:*

System restore failed due to an unspecified error
the system cannot find the file specified (0x80070002)

*i also got a blue screen saying "Fatal System error something 0xc000003a"*
iwasnt able to write it all down since it suddenly went off.

Hi

Do you have your original Windows Vista CD still?

Try the info HERE and more so to start with if you can hit F8 and then choose "last known good"

But an inplace repair maybe in order.

i dont think i have the vista cd. i only have the recovery disk. is that the same?

regarding the link, it says that the article is different than my version of windows. would it work in vista?

the last known good configuration and everything in the F8 menu does not work.i tried them for the whole day.

system restore also says that the files are missing. it seems deleted.

thanks for the reply!
