upgrade Athlon II X4 640 to Phenom II X4 965? Or throw baby out with water to i5-2500
By, "baby out with water" I mean i5-2500(k) (as in, motherboard with the CPU (replaced)).
Would the Phenom II provide longer gaming future proofing or pretty much the same amount of longevity as the Athlon II X4 ? The Phenom II X4 965 is $125, while going to the i5 would mean a heck of a lot more money. The motherboard doesn't support any of the Bulldozers is why I'm trying to upgrade so fast, if it's worth it, before places sell out of all of the Phenom II's.
