Arrow acer x223w green tint.

greetings,

just 2 days ago i was working on my paper in word when suddenly my screen (acer x223w) turned green. i cant see the difference between red and black anymore. I thought it was my monitor so i attached my laptop on the monitor and it was normal.

2nd thing i did was update the Nvidia driver and reboot my pc. Without any good results...

After that i decided to update my vista to windows 7 professional and it worked! The monitor was normal again! but now (12 hours later) the problem is back. I updated already the Nvidia and i've opened up the case to see if something is not good attached + blown away the dust .

Does any1 can help me with this?

grtz

Repeat with the laptop but this time keep it on for hours as you did before. If it fades, the monitor is failing most likely.

There are other possibilities but if you have this option it allows you to elimiate the monitor itself as the problem. Nowdays you rarely have the means to do so.

I had that happen once with a bent pin on the video card or the cable from the monitor.

Hi,

I've had lot's of calls from folks with similar problems. Turns out that they do not screw the VGA connector to the socket, it works out and one of the colors goes away. Maybe?

If it works fine connected to your laptop but turns green when connected to the desktop then I'd say the card is going bad and not the monitor.
