Default Acrobat 7 not working like it used to

I'm still hoping someone can tell me why my Acrobat 7 will not work the way it used to....
I use IE 8 and WinXP Pro. Acrobat simply will not respond from the top toolbar nor when I highlight an area on a page....I have to open Acrobat and then paste in the URL to get it to download any pages now.....

Have you tried restoring XP to a time when it worked the way you wanted it? If thiw works, then it might indicate that one of XP's updates changed something.

Since support for Acrobat 7 ended in December 2009, it is hard finding any support from the Adobe site.

User-to-user support works well in many cases in the Acrobat forums.

I have never seen where "Restore" works in WinXP Pro. Any time I've tried it, nothing changed.
