windows not geniune

Does anyone know why have i started getting a message in the right hand corner of my screen saying "this copy of windows is not geniune" i have had my laptop (lenovo 3000 g530) for about 10 months which i bought brand new from maplins with windows 7 pro installed.If i restart my computer the message dissapears, but comes back 1 to 2 hours later, but only if i am connected to the internet, could it be because i have only installed a few updates, i seemed to get problems when i installed all of them, so now i'm very cautious (i really don't want to do system recovery AGAIN!). I would be grateful for any help on this, thankyou
