How to stop annoying INVISIBLE POP UPS/AUDIO Ads?

I’m constantly hearing these commercial ads when I’m connected to the internet; however, I can’t see where they are coming from. I will close out of all my web browsers (IE) and run my task manager and there will be nothing list there but I can hear it loud and clear.

I have tried scanning Windows Defender but I just get this error message:

Error 0x800070424 The specified service does not exist as an installed service'. (error code: 0x800704240)

when i ran Hijackthis I got this message:
for some reason your system denied write access to Hosts file. If any hijack domains are in this file Hijackthis may not be able to fix this.
If that happens, you need to edit the file yourself. To do this, click start,Run and type:
notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\Hosts
and press enter. find the line(s) Hijackthis reports and delete them.
Save the file as 'hosts' with quotes and reboot."

Please also download MBRCheck to your desktop

• Double click MBRCheck.exe to run (vista and Win 7 right click and select Run as Administrator)
• It will show a Black screen with some information that will contain either the below line if no problem is found:
  • Done! Press ENTER to exit...
• Or you will see more information like below if a problem is found:
  • Found non-standard or infected MBR.
  • Enter 'Y' and hit ENTER for more options, or 'N' to exit:
• Either way, just choose to exit the program at this point since we want to see only the scan results to begin with.
• MBRCheck will create a log named similar to MBRCheck_07.16.10_00.32.33.txt which is random based on date and time.

I tried TDSSKiller and its saying no threats found.

I don’t seem to have MBRCheck.exe

You still should attach the TDSSKillerlog.txt

• Whether an infection is found or not, a log file should already be created on your C: drive ( or whatever drive you boot from) in the root folder named something like TDSSKiller.2.1.1_27.12.2009_14.17.04_log.txt which is based on the program version # and date and time run.
• Please attach this log to your next reply. (See: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post )

I do want to see the log from MBRCheck, don't forget that!
