Hi

Without having to look over past threads of yours what is the Windows version and Service Pack used and did you downgrade or upgrade to a different version of Windows that came with your PC?

What is your PC model and make?

If you re-install the driver that "tgell" listed for you again does this issue go away?

Not sure what is happening. Disconnect the device from the usb port. Download USBDeview and run in an admin account. Delete all vendor specific devices. Reboot and then connect your device.

Doing okay. When you run USBDeview you should see vendor specific devices. You can safely remove these. Sometimes one driver conflicts with another. These will be reinstalled the next time you connect a USB device. Delete only the Vendor Specific Devices. Have you tried inserting your USB to serial device in a different USB port? Try that first.

Yeah I would try what tgell mentions in using the USB device in another port, it should not matter what port but in some instances USB can foul up and cause driver issues.
