Default Video projector issue-blue screen

Hello All,
I am doing some free work for a church. They recently lost their I.T. person so I offered to try and get them back running. They are trying to project song words on their screen but everytime I move something over to that monitor it appears Blue on the screen. When I grab it and pull it back to the number one monitor it is normal in color. They say the last time things worked properly was in May.

Here is the equipment: The tower is a Dell running Windows Vista Home with a dell monitor (which for some reason is designated as #2-is there a way to change this?)
The projector is an Optoma EP721. The menu pulls up fine with different colors. Any help would be appreciated.

What happens if you just hook up the projector only? Are there any other churches in your area that can lend assistance? What software are you using for the slides? Mediashout is what our church used to use, before going with pro presenter.

I haven't tried just hooking up the projector but will give it a whirl. They were also using media shout but I tried that, MS PowerPoint, and just using the desktop and all were blue.

Check the settings for the video card, to make sure that it is even seeing the projector for the split desktop. Really you need to be using Media Shout, not Powerpoint. MS is a lot more robust program, and is a step up from Power Point.

Get with one of the other churches in your area as I mentioned before, since their av staff can assist you on site, than trying to do this afar. Most likely you are just dealing with a simple problem with a simple solution.

Yeah, I figured with the #1 monitor staying normal and this only happening when an image or item is dragged to the right that it would be a simple fix for a global audience rather than a church in the next town.

It is a easy fix. You just need to go to the properties for the video card, by just going to Control panel and choosing Display Properties. As long as the control software is loaded for the video card, you have more control over what you can do with the video card settings.

Again, very simple solution, you just need to learn to use the tools avail. Also working with another church, with someone that is seasoned in Worship arts, will help to mentor you in your new position, so you do not feel like you have a large load on your shoulders. Even if you have to use Teamviewer to work with the other person on something, or have them meet with you at your church, or you meet with them at their's, it will allow you to learn further how to make the most out of what you have.
