Default Can I use an old 2Wire router with a Lynksis E3000 router?

I currently have a old 2Wire router that I use with a Lynksis WRTG45 access point for wireless network. I have the access point connected to the router using a switch so that I can also hard wire into a desktop. I have recently bought a Lynksis E3000 router for better network speed as well as the dual band capability. I would like to switch out the access point (WRTG45) for the E3000 but am not sure if I can use the E3000 with the old 2Wire router without degrading the capabilities. Also if I can just switch them out how do I configure the E3000 to be compatible with the 2Wire?

Default Re: Can I use an old 2Wire router with a Lynksis E3000 router?

I have a similar question...

I am thinking of getting this 11n router

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833146005

I spent an hour looking at 802.11n routers and I think the WD My Net N900 HD Dual-Band Router might be the best bet, since it was designed specifically to accelerate movies, video and gaming. I found this pr from them

http://wdc.com/en/company/pressroom/...e-81097f2b8d3f

They mention “The exclusive FasTrack Plus technology provides intelligent, real-time traffic prioritization for simultaneous HD and 3D media streaming and online gaming.”

So what is this FasTrack Plus really doing?

If this something that other routers do?
