MacBook Pro (Mid-2009, MacBookPro5,4) Hard Drive Question
Internal hard drive was 250GB, and it failed. Got a new Hitachi Travelstar 750GB drive, loaded Mac OS X. New 750GB drive will boot OK as External drive, but will NOT BOOT as Internal drive. Any explanations? |

The 750GB drive boots OK when used as an internal drive on old MacBook (not MacBook PRO) and a different drive (250GB) boots ok internally on the MacBook PRO.
So, it's probably not a connector or cable or drive issue. Firmware is up-to-date on MBP. I need this MacBook PRO to be fully portable, and need at least 650 GB online. Booting from external USB is not a fully portable solution. Too awkward. Suggestions? Last edited by GeoFan; 07-16-12 at 14:51.. |
