Mornin Gloozt!

I'd love to know what would be your choice of your next camera?

I have gone full loopy loo looking at them, bit like my brain.

Someone else said the Lumix was faster, but like you mention faster doing what exactly.

The Fz47 looks bulky on the utube reviews but compared to similar spec cameras it is actually smaller and lighter, maybe it is just the design. I'll end up having to make one out of papier mache so I know what it feels like to hold, lol

Good morning .
I'm here for a short while. Got a date with the lake in about a half hour.
I'm not sure where I am going for my next camera. I've been reviewing pictures and re-editing/cleaning them up. I've noticed my old Kodak took some very good pictures. I'm giving the girl, I sold it to, a call. I want to compare it to my Canon and see if my good Kodak shots were just luck.
She uses her damn phone camera instead. I sold it to her because she has a natural eye for taking photos. But I haven't seen any good ones, from her since I sold it,
I do know I need more zoom and a view finder "might" be a good idea. Could have used one a couple of times and it may be better for where I think I am going. (I need to quit being an amateur)
I depend on auto, too much, because I am taking shots, willy nilly and not always in a place where I can fiddle with the shutter settings, quickly. I take a lot of quick shots, in different light and motion. If anything, I need a reliable auto and I think a higher burst.

Faster taking several pictures in a row, continuously.

OK I'm guessing. Someone is going to drop off another A/C unit so I can cool the whole house??? 80% humidity at 7am and already 75f/24c

Hi mate

Today I ordered my camera the FZ47!!!!!!!!!!!

I have bought it in the US because it is so much cheaper, so I'll have to wait a week or so for delivery.

So YAY!

I'll keep you posted and hope you have a good time on the lake

Great!
I hope it is the ONE for you. I tried to keep away from saying, buy this or that one.
If you are like me, you will check the postal tracker, every couple of hours to see where your package is. :D
Read your manual while playing with features. And keep it with you, always! I missed three shots yesterday, an older (early 50's) MG, a sports car, I didn't identify, and a lady driving down the Business route, near my house, going the WRONG WAY!

That's exactly how I felt!

I have downloaded the manual so I can start reading that.

I'll need to buy a carry case, but I'll wait til I get it. I'll prob be able to get something on ebay.

Funny how time goes slow when you are waiting for something, doh!

Check Case Logic for cases. I have a nice little padded one. Big enough for a couple spare sets of batteries, a tripod base, another SD card (you'll need one. 4GB on my camera is 1231 pics, on the L and fine settings. The biggest size), and I can throw my MP3 payer and ear buds in, too. It is a belt carry, but I throw a long strap on it to carry it around my neck, at times.
Plus it's lovely Mossy Oak..

Your camera probably would not fit a case like this, because of the viewfinder.
(And that proves my point about "bulky". My camera is a high zoom. It fits in a medium size case, for regular point and zooms. Yours should only be, slightly bigger because of the viewfinder)
Here are a few cases that might work for you.

Don't know if you can get them there, but they are inexpensive and well built.

Been waiting to see this post. Congrats.
Why wait for tomorrow? Shoot the moon, the walls, the dust under the couch. Anything!
You wouldn't believe the things I took pictures of.
You never know when the most common thing, may take on epic proportions, through a viewfinder. (and some thoughtful cropping)

BTW, I hope "shoot the moon" doesn't mean to you, what it does here.
Have fun, don't get frustrated, and take lots of pictures.

Hi Glooz

Still getting used to the camera. How do I show a photo in this actual post? Not that I have taken anything exciting yet.

It's def quick like I wanted it. The screen is of good quality. So far so good. The colours look better than they look in real life, lol. Gona try and print out the manual as it's easier to sit and read.

Easiest way is this: http://tinypic.com/
Just browse to your photo, set the size. You don't want the original size.
You will have to answer a capthca question and then upload.
Sometimes it is very slow. So wait.
Then copy the img code and paste it in a post.
They seem to be down at the moment.
Another way is to get an account (free) at Photobucket or some other image hosting site and put your photos there. You can use the IMG codes from there to post.
Or if you click the advanced button, below the message box (the one you type a post in), you can add an attachment, but the size limit here is a PITA, sometimes.

Sounds like you are happy with your choice. I'm happy for you.

Hi

Great stuff on the camera choice and glad you are so enthusiastic about it, photography is an art form and doesnt matter what you take.

Could also try http://imageshack.us/ for image hosting, I use this at times on the forum.

There is a little Resize menu, when you upload.
It says Default. You want to choose something like 1024x768 or smaller
I hope the cat was posing and not charging.
Who's David Baily?
Not awake yet.

BTW Here's how one of my drawings progress. The rear wheel of the bike is about finished and I am starting the fender/seat area

Yes Bagpuss (aka Mr Tibbs) is my eternal willing subject and I will prob bore people with photos of him, the close-ups are me experimenting with the zoom. The only prob wiv Tibbs is that he follows me around everywhere so it isnt so easy catching him far enough away to be able to zoom in, doh!

He has great fangs!

But he was getting a bit bored

This photo was at full zoom, I have no idea which setting it was on (am still working on that), but I think the quality is pretty cool.

Thanks, gotcha re TinyPic size.

Re your bike picture. You must have the patience of a seriously saintly Saint! Awesome. It is interesting seeing how you build the picture. Are you working from a photo? So are you self-taught right, I think you said, so how did you get into that? Cool . Once you get into it, is it a relaxing activity? Feel free to post as you go if you dont mind sharing
