Default Laptop still goes to sleep even after changing power options

I have a dell E4310 laptop, running 32-bit Windows 7. I have gone into the power options and set everything to never for power-saving modes, gone to the lid options and set closing action to do nothing and the screen is to duplicate on a second monitor but it still goes into sleep mode when the lid is closed.

We did several updates recently, could that be the cause?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you!!!

Default Re: Laptop still goes to sleep even after changing power options

Hi

This maybe something and nothing as in help wise, but I'm just checking that when you set the power and Lid Colosing options to do nothing, that you did this on all Power Plans as they can all be set differently, so may just be a test to set all the Plans to Do Nothing in relation to the Lid Closing action.

Maybe Hibernate is the cause and this HERE may help as you can disable it easily and enable it via the FixIts

I wish I could re-create my laptop and netbook not going to sleep when the lid is closed, but the Power settings for Lid Close work for me, so just now also thinking are there multiple users on the laptop? if so check all accounts Power Options, it should not be the issue, but worth setting the Lid to Do Nothing as a test.
