I am using Excel in MS 2010 Starter. I hit some combination of keys and my spread sheet magnified so I can only see a small portion of the spread sheet. How do I undo this ?

You probably hit the keyboard shortcut for Zoom In.
Look for the XXX% box to zoom back to 100%. |

Did the magnification affect only Excel or did it affect your whole display? If the latter, you apparently inadvertently started the Windows magnification tool called Magnifier. A keyboard shortcut to close Magnifier is Windows Key + Esc.
