Default Enemy Territory v. 2.60 help!

Hey, there.

A wee problem. I'm getting back into Enemy Territory, and my favorite server, HESS, runs version 2.60. "No problem", I think to myself, and go to the main ET site to download version 2.60. Everything goes well until, while installing the very last file onto my computer, the process stops to give me this message:

"C:/Progams/Wolfenstien-Enemy Territory/version.inf could not be opened"

Hmmm. Now thats odd, but not surprising. I am, after all, trying to work with XP. Things aren't supposed to work. I understand this. Is there a way I can *make* it work? Any suggestions to getting 2.60 fully installed on my computer? Any help would be appreciated

Here are my system specs, should that help any:
