i mac and .eml

My mom just bought an i mac. She uses hotmail for email. She gets .eml attachments and the i mac asks which application she wants to use to open the attachment. She is 75 and is not computer savy. I am 48 and this problem is making me feel 75

Can anyone tell me what I need to do or application to open .eml attachments?
