The other day I was playing Solitaire offline on my computer. I ran Ad-AwareSE,SpyBot S&D,AVG7 & NoAdware. I even ran Ad-AwareSE & SpyBot S&D,& didn't notice anything peculiar in WinPatrol. After all that, I didn't find a virus, parasite or Trojan or malware I could attribute the offline crash to. Ideas? OLB

What was the crash info? What OS? And what makes you think it is malware related? Is it repeatable?

There is no crash info. It happens intermittently if me or my wife play games offline on the computer, which is a Win98SE or 98A. I have had previous crashes when I still had my Win95 & they were traced to viruses or Trojans. Hope this helps. I am not a computer geek; only an experienced rookie. Sorry if I stepped on toes recently. OLB

So you mean you get BSOD? It could be related to something that you ran before running the games. Some applications are not too good at cleaning up after themselves. In Win9x system memory leaks can cause all kinds of problems. Try playing the games after a clean reboot without doing anything else before them and see if it ever happens.

About the toe stepping. No problem. Just read the stickies as suggested so you know what they are all about and what they cover. Then you will have better understanding of what we are doing while using those procedures. Also reading some of the many threads here will give you a better understanding of what is required to fix problems in many cases.

What is BSOD? If this info helps, when it crashes offline, the screen freezes & then I can't do a proper shutdown. OLB

BSOD is the infamous Blue Screen Of Death! Sounds like you are not getting this.

You should try what I said in my previous message and playing the games at startup without having run anything else. What games are you talking about?

This is really an issue for the Software Forum as I do not believe it is Spyware Related. If you would like, you can run thru our READ ME FIRST cleanup procedure to see if it uncovers anything.
