    Good day,
I am new at linux < 2 years old. Iǘe transitioned my emachine T5026 (Manual for T5026 http://www.emachines.com/support/drivers.html) to Linux 9.10 with 400G hard drive and loving it. I recently tried to transfer data from multi-card reader (SD- 4 G) to hard drive and it seems Linux did not see the multi-card reader (manufacturer installed worked well in xp).

Have you seen this problem and can you point me to instructions to bring up multi-card reader in linux?

    thank you
    jk

Okay, sorry for the post. I now realize I had two issues:
1- My card reader is old and can not read 4 Geg SD cards
2- Linux did not mount the card reader properly.

I found the answer at post 14 of the url: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1308542&page=2

in short, power down, unplug the card reader from mother board, reboot to login, shutdown, plug the card back in itś original socket, and reboot. Itś that simple.

    Cheers, have a great weekend.
