Performance seems to be OK, but I know for a fact I have at least remnants (and a whole Windows profile named custom dedicated to it?) of the ShopAtHome virus, and I'm sure there is other active fun on here, too.

All directions followed and logs attached. I greatly appreciate your time and efforts!!!

Please use add/remove programs to uninstall:
    ShopAtHome.com Helper

If it won't uninstall, just carry on.

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Rerun Hitman and remove everything it finds.

Now rerun RogueKiller and have it fix these items:
    Code:
    ¤¤¤ Files : 2 ¤¤¤
    [ZeroAccess][File] Desktop.ini -- C:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC\Desktop.ini -> Found
    [ZeroAccess][Folder] Install -- C:\Program Files\Google\Desktop\Install -> Found
Download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.

    • Right-click OTM.exe And select " Run as administrator " to run it.
    • Paste the following code under the [IMG] area. Do not include the word Code.

    Code:
    :Processes
    explorer.exe

    :files
    C:\Documents and Settings\Coby&Jenny\Application Data\ShopAtHome
    C:\Documents and Settings\Coby&Jenny\Local Settings\Temp\*.*

    :Commands
    [purity]
    [ResetHosts]
    [emptytemp]
    [start explorer]
    [Reboot]

    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Push the large [IMG] button.
    • OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar), and paste it in your next reply.

Now navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder ( assuming your Windows drive is C). This is where your log will be saved in the form of Date and Time mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log. Just look for the most recent .log file. Attach this log file to your next message.

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

[IMG] Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.

    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).Make sure that you watch for the license agreement for TrendMicro HijackThis and click on the Accept button TWICE to accept ( yes twice ).

    Then attach the below logs:
    C:\MGlogs.zip
    RogueKiller log
    Hitman log
    JRT log
    OTM log
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Well, still no notice of any problems in performance, just like the first time.

Attached are the logs, sans one.

When I ran JRT, it would run, it got past where the desktop disappeared... but when the desktop re-appeared, the scan was gone. I tried it multiple times and it just... stops and closes.

    So no JRT log! :(

You can try using Revo Uninstaller to remove the ShopAthome.com helper.

Otherwise, I am not seeing any malware in your logs.

    How are things running?

Computer is running fine. Question is, how bad is it to leave the ShopAtHome Helper?

It should NOT be left installed. It may only be minor junk, but it could bring you back in a week's time for us to have to start all over...

Try this if normal uninstallation and Revo is failing...

Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

Make sure that you tell TimW if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

Revo didn't work because ShopAtHome doesn't show up as a program for me in my Add/Remove Programs list at all.

I DID run the script Kestrel provided and DID receive a message of SUCCESS, that it was added to the registry.

And I DO know (at least one of) the folder(s) that this pain is residing in.

    C:\Documents and Settings\custom\Application Data\ShopAtHome\ShopAtHomeHelper

    I see:

    ShopAtHomeHelperPS.dll
    ShopAtHomeUpdater.exe
    ShopAtHomeWatcher.exe

Delete what you see relating to it. And also do this so Tim can see if it's been uninstalled properly.

Run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista, Windows7 or Win8) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

    Computer still running fine.

    Updated logs, per request.

    Thanks to you both!

    Looks good.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
    2. Go back to step 4 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link

Malware removal from a National Chain = $149
Malware removal from MajorGeeks = $0
