Hello all, i need some help, i have a pc pentium 4 processor 1.5 g, at the moment it has windows 2000 which has run fine on it for sometime, but then i get the pc shut down for no reason, it goes to a blue screen, my friend called it the "the blue screen of death" ....he said it was my hardrive knackered, so i gave him my pc and he changed the 40gb hardrive for a spare one he had, he then put windows xp on it for me also, it was fine for a few hours, but still having the same problem, the error message reads "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your pc" .....it also mentions something about hardware or software changes, and what to do if i keep getting the same message, but its all a load of **** to a novice like me. the rest of the message is below.

    KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR

    TECH INFO

    STOP: 0X00000077 (0XC000000E,0XC00000000,0X01F61000)

Does any of this mean anything to anyone? and is my old hardrive infact knackerd? ....and what can i do, thanks in advance for any help it would be really appreciated, its driving me potty lol ...

i think that problem not in your HD, i suspect that your memory(ram) have some troubles. i advice you run some memory testing progs like testmem86.
