    Greetings o' learned ones....

    I have a pentium 3 (551mhz), 128mb Ram, o/s: xp pro v2002 sp1,
I have just installed a Nvidia geForce FX 5500 128mb AGP direct X9 graphics card I recently bought from a popular auction site.

I went to Nvidia's website to install their Driver for this card, Downloaded it onto my Desktop no problems. I double click and go through the license agreement blah blah, and I get so far into the installation process and then it shuts down everything.

After it starts up again a bubble pops up to tell me that it didn't install completely and my hardware may not be working properly (It doesn't)

I tried the install wizard advanced option where I specify where the driver is but it doesn't recognise the download. I've also tried a different download from DNA Force on GAMESPOT site but that didn't work either...

Does anyone have any ideas as I've been at this now for 4 and a half hours and i'm going for a beer...

    mmmm beer

Try restoring the system defaults in the BIOS.
